Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son is stationed in San Diego.  He tried to end his life on 4/2.  Of course I flew down to be with him.  He is doing some better but having lots of panic attacks.  Seeing counselors, doctors, etc.…Continue

One Graduated & One Going In

I just had one son that graduated boot camp on 2-11-11 and now his brother who is only 13 months younger is about to graduate high school and follow in his brothers foot steps as well as his dad's.. I am so very proud of them both, but I must say that this is gonna be a little tough... When do the SR's receive pay?

I am on my son's checking account and I noticed that his last paycheck was a lot less than the 1st one in December and then I think that he sent me a letter stating that they get paid on the 15th and then as well on the last day of the month.  I checked his account this morning and noticed that nothing had been posted.  Does anyone know anything about this.. Just curious.  Any info is greatly appreciated.  I only ask, because he needs me to make a purchase for his girlfriend.  Thanks so… Continue

NEW NAVY MOM - HELP

I'm of course very new to all of this, but I would like to say that I am getting so much good information from everyones blogs.  I do have some questions though.  My first one is, what does PIR stand for.  Like I said, I'm new.  I'm doing better each day emotionally, but I still have my moments.  My son left on Monday, Dec. 13th and I'm starting to get anxious for the form letter, the date of graduation, etc.  I thought that yesterday was going to be the worst.  It was his 19th birthday. …

Well I found out why they delayed my son Andrew he is in a division that does some kind of performing. So it turns out I will not be flying I will be take a train. It is not as expensive. But do layer up becuase I hear it is really cold up there. Well YOu take care and tell your son congratulation.

Good Mornign, my sister ..... i spoke jsut now with my sons Recruiter and he tells me that there may be a chance that he may not be able to tell me my son Andrew information. I told about your son and why would that be a problem for mine. He said I am just telling you because some thime there is a delay. I was like oh ok. Well please check and get back with me. Well I will give you the information on my son a ssoon as I get it. I hope they would be in the same division . That would be awsome don't you think!!
