Hi Lost Navy Mom, it's good to hear from you. Congratulations on your Christmas present!! I'm so glad you finally heard from your son. Those days before that second phone call are really miserable. I didn't even get my first phone call because the phone cards he took were not activated as they should have been. My mind went crazy! lol My son will be an AO, he wanted to do law enforcement also but it wasn't available at the time. I have received a couple of letters and a card from my son. He had a chance to call me on Christmas Eve but he said many of the other SR's called several different people and when it was finally his turn it was time to wrap it up. That bummed him out a little, but the following Wednesday just as I finished reading a letter and still standing in front of the mail box he called! Did I tell you this already? I've told so many! lol I'm really missing him. He said their division 059 has a few knuckleheads that like to curse and talk back so they've all had to pay for it, but other than that he is doing well. He says the food is good and he's eating well. According to the schedule they were given, last Wednesday they were in their 3 week day 25 of actual training. So this being their 4th week coming up they will do weapons training and have their graduation pictures taken. I found a link http://hubpages.com/hub/US-Navy-Boot-Camp where I'm following what they're doing. So far he says it's hasn't been as intense as he thought it would be. This of course is a good thing. The teamwork has begun by now and things will go a bit smoother for them. Our boys are in the home stretch!!! 32 more days!! Where will you be staying? I'm thinking we will stay either at the Red Carpet or at the Navy Lodge. I'm going to rent a car for a little sight seeing with our SR if he's up to it. But I'm thinking the less travel time from the boot camp to the hotel the better for him.

Hi Lost Navy Mom. It's good to talk to someone who has a son in the same division as my son. I got my first phone call on Wednesday at 4:12 and we talked for 20 minutes. How about you? All is going well for him. How about for your son?

Hi LNM -- wanted to welcome you to the GA group.  Have you heard from your son yet?  Waiting for that first letter can be hard on the family and especially with the holidays looming.  I see you found your PIR group - they will be a great lifeline while you go thru boot camp, we have a lot of experienced Navy moms in the GA group so if you have any questions please let us know and welcome!
