Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Daughter leaves December 10

I am new and this is so confusing for me. My daughter will leave December 10 to Great Lakes but I have really not been informed of anything other than the date that she is leaving. I know nothing of what will happen after she leaves my door and it terrifies me!

Join DEP-Leavin' for bootcamp in DecemberYou will meet others with loved ones leaving 12/10/2019 or the same week in December who may be in the same TG and have PIR together.

Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for RTC

Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view.

I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages and Discussions there.

Arrival and What Happens at RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will happen and what to expect.

Be sure to join your PIR group once you get The Form Letter, which now arrives 9 to 14 business days after the recruit's arrival at the RTC in most cases. Let me know when you know what ship and division your recruit is in. I will have more info for you.

If you would like information on your future Sailor's rating (job/occupational specialty) or field, then let me know the rating or field. There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

We ask that our members not use a last name or email address in their Username - even if it differs from their Sailor's - so please head to “Settings” on the main page right away to set your new Username (be creative!) and add a profile image (no last names visible) to complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you.  We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
