OK, so the first thing I did when I got home from Jesse's enlistment ceremony was gather the dirty clothes from his room. (To say he was a 'messy' would be a gross understatement!) And I do mean WAS - because I'm sure that won't be the case from now on! LOL Anyway, I had gotten 2 loads of laundry done, folded, and placed on beds to be put away when family got home. I was telling my younger son he had laundry on his bed to put away when I realized that I had done the same with Jesse's! Now when in the world is he supposed to put it away? Honestly, we all had a good laugh at my forgetful moment.
So how about you? When you did your recruits laundry for the first time did you cry? How about the first family gathering where that person is missing? Just curious as to how many of these "first times" will stop me in my tracks. And how do you cope? Stay busy? Avoid their 'space' at the house? Start getting it all organized? I mean, he may never live here again and didn't want to get emotional by going through it before he left. How do I know what to save, what to get rid of, or what to do with those little things he may think are so meaningful and I would not consider them so? Pack everything up? Wait until after A-school and his first duty? His first time home on leave? When is it time? Or is there ever a 'right' time? I can not remember how my mom dealt with my brother's room.
Ok, enough of my situation. How did you handle it? Or is your sailor is DEP, have you thought about how you will handle it?
Typing or "talking" it out always helps me. Thanks for reading!

Calls for Recruits.org would like you to know about a program for the Men and Women of our Armed Forces. I am giving away free phone cards for Recruits to use while they are in basic training to keep in touch with Family Members and Loved Ones. I feel that the Family, Loved Ones, nor the Men and Women of our Armed Forces should have to pay for phone calls from Boot Camp. Please click the link above and get your new Service Member the FREE phone cards they need.
