OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Yes, there is a train (inexpensive) from GL to Chicago. I guess they would take a taxi from there to the game. Only thing is that they need to carefully watch their time so they won't return to base late. HUGE NO NO! They will have to leave the base under the "buddy" system and return with that same "buddy."

Although I have not been a single mom for many years, my ex-husband has not written to my son. It just breaks my heart. He is anagry because Jace didn't come back to Montana before shipping out. Jace was up against it because he was on rolling start and only had 10 days to pack up etc. plus it would have been two days traveling time. Plus, his dad didn't even offer to help him pay for it. As it was the poor kid was working two jobs etc. I flew to Portland to help him out. Now, poor dad is pulling the pouting act and not writing. I am so infuriated. At least Jace has a step- dad who loves him unconditionally.

Hi Laurie, This is his form letter comments: "Hey Mom I am not sure if Amanda (his girlfriend) will be able to come because of crew but I will find out. Boot camp is easy no problems at all. We did not get to sleep for 2 day but that is it. I tried to call Amanda with my one call but it didn't work :( I love you will write home in about a week." Kids!! he was supposed to call me. She wasn't expecting a call from a stranger in IL and she didn't even have her phone with her. We could have killed him for that one!!

Oh sorry Laurie, I also go to the negative and worry. I've been reading so much about punishment I just assumed that. You're probably right. We have a daughter 18 who is finishing high school on line and a 17 year old son who is going into the 10th grade studying plumbing. My son Anthony turned 23 in March. He had been going to college for 6 years switched majors three times and then got bored with chemical engineering. Too much halo playing, I think.
