Hello Susana! Hope all is well! Just wondering if Ben is in Norfolk? I know Seth is excited to have his friend join him in the fleet. Seth drove his car down to Norfolk yesterday. It will make it much more convenient for them to get around. seth has told me that the U.S.S. Bataaan is no longer scheduled to deploy in nov this year, but instead will not deploy until 2017!!! Also, next spring it will make the trip to n.y.c. for fleet week, as it will be the Bataan's turn to participate! How exciting!!! Well, please take care and from one Navy mom to another, a big hug!!! ♡♡♡
Hi susana! Im sure you must have boots in the house! Yay! Seth tells me he is training for fueling of the "birds". An ABF (was supposed to do ABH, but they changed that before he arrived in Norfolk, not sure as to why) or aviation boatswain mate. Seth said he will have in depth training starting next week. He tells me Ben will be doing the same ABF too. Seth said he and Ben would like to eventually get an apartment or place to live near base once they are permitted to do so. That would be nice. Much better than living on cell block 5 or the rusty nickel as the Bataan is sometimes known as, lol! Seth recently got engaged. He proposed to his girlfriend while home on his 10 day RAP leave. I'm still not sure how i feel about all that...i like her alot, but i think he definitely should have waited. I told him to wait for marriage at least a year or more. They both agreed, thank goodness. Well, enjoy your time with your sailor, and please tell Ben i said hello! Take care and God Bless! ♡♡♡
Hi susana! I am so sorry, i just now see your comment! Seth is currently in Va on the bataan. He loves it down there! He said they guys are great and very welcoming! He cant wait for Ben to join him in fleet! seth did RAP duty after pensacola, and we loved having him home for 10 glorious days! Went by way too fast though! Wishing you, Ben and your family a Happy fourth of july!!! ♡♡♡
Hi susana! Yes, seth was at the beach today too. He told his sisters he had a great time. If you are able to share the pic of them, i would love to see it! Seth is having a great time! Although he did seem a little homesick a few days ago. He tells me he classed up mid-week and will be able to come home in 2 weeks, something about RAP. After his 11 days at home, he will fly down to norfolk. I guess Ben will meet him in norfolk at some point. I dont know how or why seth was classed up so soon. Anyway, i sent a care package of homemade cookies for the boys. I hope they enjoy them! ♡
Hi susana! This is julianne barker (mamakweenb) seth's mom. So glad i got to meet you at Sarge's m & g. Ben and seth are bunk mates down in Pcola a-school. We have face timed. Looks like they are having a great time! ♡♡♡
Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes. Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.
Since you have a recruit at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted." You can make that change on the same page when you change the ZIP Code.
Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info.
What is your recruit's rating (job/specialty) or field going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.
Take care and blessings to you and yours.
The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 928 is Triple Threat.
