Hi. He's FC. In A school Great Lakes. We are hoping he gets C school in Va. Did your sailor request San Diego?

Hmmm..this really is something! So...now you are only using Firefox to log on to the internet, correct? Not opening IE at all, right? If you are still having this problem when using only Firefox, then it has to be a setting issue somewhere. Try one more time....shutting your computer off for a minute, turning back on, then use Firefox. Don't touch IE at all!  good luck!

Alisia, LoL, I used to drive my kids nuts asking them to help me on the computer.

AEGIS is not over-maned because it is a bit more technical. However, your son should not let that put him off. He must have done very well on his ASVAB to be in AECF.

There is no way that your son could get a job and do school too. The Navy does not allow that. He could do volunteer work if he liked while going to school. Brenden used to volunteer at the Animal Shelter on base. He could not do much volunteer work because ATT was so intense. I think he used to go to the Animal Shelter on Friday after school. He really enjoyed helping out with the animals. He liked doing that so much that he got a tattoo on his upper left arm of a huge wolf paw print, LoL. I was kind of surprised that he had done this because he used to be afraid of needles. I guess after being jabbed in boot camp with tons of shots, he got over his fear.

As for getting work while on hold. I think each department on base posts the jobs available. I think they are posted in each ship. . I will have to ask my son how he got his.

I definitely recommend that your son gets a job while he is on hold. . He will go nuts cleaning otherwise and he will be soooo bored.

There are many different types jobs to choose from. Lots of civilians have lost their jobs on base due to the cut back. So students who are done with (A)school have been filling in.

Talk to you soon,

Sandy :)

Howdy,

We should be able to send from both locations...under pic and at bottom of page. I'm gonna do a little investigating...you've got me curious now! I thought sending from the top was "private" that no one else could see.. and the bottom posted to our "wall." Hmmmm.....very interesting! I have to run for now..I'll be off the computer for a while.

By the way, what is your first name?

Talk to you soon,

Barb

Well, at least you are "receiving" messages!  Let's see what the N4M techical folks have to say, but I sounds like its some kind of setting issue with Explorer 9....especially if you did not have this problem before downloading Explorer 9.

It still wouldn't hurt to check you have the latest updates with Adobe Flash and Java like I mentioned earlier.

In case you are wondering why I'm offering these suggestions...I'm a freelance web designer and computer techie geek. I'm also happy to try to help.

Here's my personal email address:

Hopefully, this mystery will get solved soon. Looking forward to chatting more with you about the really important stuff...our sailors!!!!

Take care,

Barb

Rsproudmom,,, happy mothers day first of all. I was readying some of your notes and wanted to say hello. my name is Renie and my sailor graduated 1-7-11 and is still at great lakes finishing up his school for FC. He finished ATT and now his A school and then C school all in GL and will get his base . I am being selfish and wish its in San Diego.

I send him care packages and I love doing it every month. I am so proud of him. He seemed to be a little up tight in att school but seems to be feeling better now that it is over.
