Just got word that Brandi is now in Hong Kong and some shipmates and her are going to the Disney Park there and one day she will spend with a local Hong Kong family and see their traditions and then of course if time allows, some local sight seeing, then after that they will stop off in Hawaii, pick up some people that will be going on the tiger cruise with them and then they are headed back to San Diego....yayyy for being back in the States, miss my little girl something fierce...

tks4... Well in the Navy I would imagine they need to learn to shine both boots and boats! LOL!

Brandis Mom  I meant boots not boats.

I think since our son is 30, we are better adjusted to him being gone, it doesn't mean we love him any less than the first time he was on his own, the seperations and lack of communication are easier now! I hope that things get easier for you all as well.

Brandis Mom  I think my daughter learned to shine her boats from your daughter. My daughter says to tell her that she is really good at it now because that is all she can do at SIQ.

Connie, the ship she will be on is deployed, she was notified first part of this week that after her leave she will be flying to Bahrain to join the ship for the rest of it's deployment.  So now the worrying starts over again, but probably after boot camp, A school and now going out to sea thousands of miles away, it should make it easier on me next time, since I will be used to her being gone for such long periods.  Not to say it won't worry me when she does deploy another time, but maybe I won't worry quite as much.....maybe...kind of doubt it, but just maybe....

Then if it is up to our son, It probably won't be in our local paper! He hates drwing attention to himself! I did one when he graduated college with his degree. then he got after me for it! HA!

Does she have any idea when she will be going yet? Keep us posted!

Yesterday when I was reading the local paper, I came across Brandi's graduation from Great Lakes in it, I was so totally taken by surprise, I didn't even realize it was going to be in there, and I usually don't read the paper, it was just by chance, that I was skimming through it, if that's not fate, then nothing else is....(by the way, found out it is the recruits that fill out a form and it is sent to the local newspaper from Great Lakes)

Just heard from our daughter, that when she finishes her A school, she will be joining the USS Ronald Reagan at it's deployed location.  Just when I thought all the emotional turmoil of getting used to being away at boot camp, now I will go through the anxiety of her first deployment.

Hey Kelly! Our son said that when he arrived In P'cola he knew several of the "old gang"  from boot! It sure was great to see you at PIR! What a weekend, huh?

Brenda... Check in with one of the Veteran Mom's Like Diane back in the Boot Camp They all know the ropes!
