That is great that you are thinking about it so positive! You are right, the important thing is that you get to see him and see him graduate! I hope that your loved one is feeling better soon.

Anxiously awaiting phone calls today! 1 more week! :)

Hi! Just checking in to see how you're doing? How is your family member that is not feeling well doing? How are you holding up?

Today is the first day that I have been home all day and didn't leave the house. Trying to get my 2 youngest ready for school on Thursday. These past few weeks have just flown by because of being so busy. I am happy about that. Still dealing with my husbands sick grandmother and my sick aunt.

Can't believe that we will see our boys next week! I am so excited!

Hope things are getting better on your end. Been keeping you in my prayers. Looking forward to meeting you next week.

If you go to the the events tab, there is a spot on there for Sarge's meet and greet.  It is at the Sundance Saloon. There is one for our time for Thursday Sept. 13th. Click on that and it will give you all the info. Make sure you RSVP to it so they have an idea on how many are attending.  Free food, lots of info and get to meet everyone.  I ordered the ribbons from Lala that everyone was talking about.  On one side it has Div 289 and on the other side is my sons name.  A lot of people wear the ribbons not only for support but to also let you find others in your childs division.  We are staying at the Courtyard Marriott and that is across the street from the Sundance Saloon.  On Sarge's site on here, it shows a map of the area and where the hotels are and the Sundance Saloon.  They have a taxi service that picks you up at your hotel and brings you there and back to your hotel again for a few bucks.  Not much at all.  It starts at 5:30.  Hope you can make it!

That is funny about the food!  My son always mentions the food in his letters and says how good it is!  At least we know they are eating good!  Southern cooking is the best though.  I know my son loves it!  He was probably one of the ones that said that!  They definitely need a sense of humor to get them through this.

Thank you for the prayers.  Sorry to hear about your family member.  Sending prayers to you all also.  Boy, not been a good month! :(

So looking forward to Sept. 14th!

Yes, I am going to the meet and greet. :-)  We will be at Sarge's, is that the one you are going to? Funny, my son got his wisdom teeth out also on Friday the 3rd.  He said that he was happy to get some sleep!  He said it wasn't that bad though.  He said that the peanut butter shot was not good. He said it was pretty sore for about 3 days.  I remember my dad telling me about that when he was in the Navy.  He said it was the worst shot he ever had in his life.  I heard that a lot of the kids have been getting sick.  He hasn't said anything to me about being sick so hopefully he hasn't been.  I know, could you imagine saying poor baby to them! :-)  As moms we definitely think like that.  When he told me about his teeth all I kept thinking was, only 2 days rest?  When I had mine out I was hurting for like a week!  I wanted to tell him that 2 days was not enough rest but I bit my tongue. :-)  I'm glad your sons spirirts are good.  That is so important.  That is funny what he said about taking a shower by himself, my son said the same thing!  I would hate that also so I can't blame them!

I haven't been on here much because I have been so busy helping with a sick family member. I feel like I have missed so much!

Have you heard anymore from your son?  I have been getting letters from him every Monday and Friday. Strange that it is twice a week but hey, I'm not complaining!  Love getting those letters!

I am so glad he is doing good. I feel for him with being homesick. I think they are so amazing to be able to do what they are doing. I could never do it. I am so proud of them all! Hope I get to meet you out there!

I am so happy that you got letters! I got mine yesterday also! It has made me feel so much better knowing that he is ok and doing well. Can't wait for more letters and a phone call! How is your son doing?

My son is 19. We really wanted him to go to College even though he said he wanted to do this. He did college for 1 semester and said that he wanted to go in the Navy. He was in DEP from Nov. 2011 until he left on July 16th. He was already a navy sea cadet and did a one weekend a month drill on the Battleship NJ and in that you have to do RT training which is like a pre-boot camp. He left the morning after Christmas in 2009 and didn't get back until the night before school started again! It was 2 weeks long and in Florida. That was his 1st time not only flying but he was by himself! Lord that was tough! Of course harder on me than him I think! I look back on that now and would give anything to be back there again instead of here now with him gone. He also did a 2 week training in Illinois for Seabee's over the summer of 2010 which was through the cadets. So, he is used to going away but us moms, well most of us, never get used to it. I'm sure your son will do well. I just really hope that we hear from them soon. No one in their Div has gotten a letter. I really do worry that they got in trouble for something. Not knowing what is going on and no contact is the hardest part. How have you been holding up?
