OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 8/25/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED.  Vaccinations still required.

**UPDATE 11/10/22 PIR - Vaccinations no longer required.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

A little about me:
My son told me about this site when he started to talk about the Navy. This has been a very difficult experience for me. He left on Sept 22. And tonight I remembered him talking about this site. And finally decided to check it out. And it gives me comfort to see other moms feel the same way I do. A good support system is what I need.
I am here to support my
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was concerned or afraid

Great to have you in the San Fran group. Feel free to drop in and post a comment introducing yourself. Here's some tips about your page.

1) On the upper right, you'll see your Sign In/Sign Out box which contains Inbox (whether you have personal messages from friends. Click here to send a personal message to one of your friends), Alerts (from your friends or apps), Friends (friend requests - you should see one from ME), Settings (here is where you change your usename, privacy settings, your page's appearance)

2) On the upper left, you'll see you photo (oops you don't have one yet - go the Settings to add one), the personal info you added. Below that you'll see Blogs Posts, Discussions, Events, Groups, etc.  You can go to your Groups quickly from here. Below this you'll see your friends' photos.

If you are getting too many email notifications (you will when you get more active), simply click "STOP FOLLOWING" wherever you are (in discussion, blog, etc.). Don't use setting to turn off ALL email notifications because if you do, you won't know when someone has sent you a message.

Just holler if you need help.

BunkerQB, look forward to meeting you at a meet and greet in the Marin/Santa Rosa area.
