OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son just passed BS21 today and is on target for Pir 4/1. He is then going to ASchool. his orders say he starts 4/4 and that he is to report 4/2. Since you have just recently been over this path, can you help me decipher? Will he move to the other side of GL on Fri 4/1 or Sat 4/2?

I know! I found this site while searching all my questions I had before he left and I was like, love it! :) I can't imagine what people go through that don't have this! It must be terrible!

I'm doing well actually! I have a heart attack every time the phone rings (which is glued to my A** and I have a super hard time sleeping, but I'm getting through. I don't want to say, "I'm getting used to it" because that's not the case at all...but it's not as bad as it was when he left.

How about  you? Have you heard from him yet? Letters?
