Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Since your future Sailor has a contract for Aircrew Survival Equipmentman (PR), join AIRCREW and Pensacola, FL A School: NAS and Corry Station and check out Airman Family and Friends.

The Rating Information Card for PR can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/pr.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)

Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR, but may fly out on Sunday due to flight availability issues. Plan to leave on Sunday if you are able. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

(PR used to be Parachute Rigger.)

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in August. You will meet others with loved ones leaving 08/13/2019 or that week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together.

Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view.

Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC

I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.

Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will happen and what to expect.

Be sure to join your PIR group once you get The Form Letter, which now arrives 9 to 14 business days after the recruit's arrival at the RTC in most cases, but may be earlier for you. Let me know when you know what division your recruit is in. I will have more info for you.

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
