Hey!  It doesn't really matter if you want a small duffle bag or backpack for him to carry his personal things in (cell, laptop, a few civilian clothes if he wants---can't wear them yet but has them when he can).  The only thing is----it has to be totally black with no writing or logos on it.  And, remember, they will carrying their seabags and garment bags (both large...they will be checked through in luggage)...so they won't want anything big as far as a duffle or backpack.  If he doesn't have any personal things to carry to A School, he doesn't need the backpack/duffel bag. My son didn't take one. Hope this helps!

I figured even if our boys aren't in the same division they'll end up at Corry together, along with CMom's son and ISTN_2BE since they're all going CT.  I think the hardest part is the knowledge that our family won't be the same ever, too. Praying for you!

I think I'm ok. How are you doing? Seems that time passes so quickly. B leaves this afternoon for the hotel and swears in tomorrow. We spent some time finishing up cleaning in his room yesterday and organized his stuff. This morning he's stripped his bed and we're washing the bedding. Now it's real. He won't be sleeping here any more. Sad.  :(

I hope you're doing ok.

Yea, this is going to ohhhhhh so very hard!  She is our oldest, of 6, and just such a huge part of everyone's lives here.  I just keep thinking of not seeing her in the house, or not picking up her socks EVERYWHERE!  we work at the same restaurant, family owned, and not having her at work either... I know this is why we prepare our kids, to go off and make lives for themselves, but no one said how heartwrenching it was going to be.

Hugs and prayers to you also!
Jenn

Hello, I was lucky enough to volunteer at the Army/Navy game.  They were promoting Navy for Moms and a bunch of us here in the Phila area gave out the info. It was a great day and I got to meet some great women.  I noticed you live in Alabama, I have a sister who lives in Mobile.
