OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 6/23/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED -  Vaccinations still required

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

10 days left til PIR

Posted on May 20, 2013 at 11:45am 3 Comments

As many before me, I am over the moon excited and proud of my SR as they all approach their PIR on 5/31. It is surly going to be a long 10 days waiting to go and getting ready and remembering everything to take. If anyone has any advise on a checklist that would be great .

These last days (2 weeks ) have been really long as we have not gotten any news or calls but I know they must be really busy getting all of the tests and final stuff completed before PIR. I am still hoping for one…

another day closer and it does not seem that far away now. at first i was at a loss, and now that i just got my second call from him yesterday and i am waiting for my second letter this week, i can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. He seems to be in great spirits and his mind is where it needs to be with the focus on being a sailor.

I loved hearing from him and though there are some trying times for him is boot camp and i am very proud of my son for finding the "right…

Good mornign all,

I got my phone call this morning from my son. This is the first one and it has been 17 days :(

It was wonderful and what a relief to hear his voice. He sounds a little stressed and missing home a bit , but for the most part he sounds like he is doing well. He says he is doing good, sleeping ok and the food is alright!!!! They did the swim test and he passed so he was happy!!!

I hope everyone else gets there phone call if you did not already sometime…

Finally the form letter has arrived:):):)

A txt from my husband came to me at work last night that stated " he has sent a letter" :):) I could not get home quick enough to open it. With hopes that something would be written in it from him, I opened it in record speed. It had no written message but it did have all of the information I have been waiting on so I was completely happy with that. His handwriting , which is normally not that well, was very nicely written in all CAPS and in…

Hi, I look forward to sharing this journey with you. I see that you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your last name; you also need to change the URL to this page. Number 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile) will tell you how to fix that. There may be other changes you will want to make as well. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
