Hi There...small world isn't it! How ya hanging in there??? Bootcamp is by far the hardest part of the journey so far for me anyways! My son, Shawn, just finished A school and is still in Great Lakes awaiting orders to see where he goes next for C school . At the moment he is home as he surprised us and walked thru our door unexpectedly a few days ago. It is the first time he has had leave since he left in December. You should begin to receive letters soon...although ( within my sons ship/ division) they could write every day they couldnt mail the letters daily..Only on sunday..so I would receive mail typically on Thursdays...I wrote EVERY day...he said they feel like mail is like god to them and they want to hear all of the details of home..I also sent pictures from home several printed on 8x10 paper as it takes up less room and they have very little space. I received 4 calls while he was there..one to say he made it...one to say he graduated Battle stations ...and 2 random in between...only the first and last are guaranteed...I joined a facebook group called RTC ( recruit training center) ...there you will find an answer to ANY questions you might have..I also connected with a few Moms from our division and we formed our own private facebook page..several of us got together the night before graduation and met in person at Sarge's Meet & Greet..I also recommend that..its a free get together the night before graduation and very informational about what to expect at the graduation... I am still very friendly with the women I met and we still keep in touch..its exciting to see the different paths that the Sailors lives are taking.....I also noticed on your profile that you also have a 17 year old senior..at Laconia High School ?? I ask because I also have 2- 17 year old seniors (twin boys) One who is planning on the Navy but hasn't met with any recruiter yet...the other just had knee surgery so his post high school plan is up in the air....if there is anything I can help you with or any questions...don't hesitate to ask...I was also in your shoes not to long ago
