OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link).

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.

I hope to see you in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).

If you look at the groups for the PIR date you will see that there are generally 40 to 80 members and several of those are seasoned members who join to assist with questions and provide info. That is a very low number of loved ones from each TG when you realize that each division in the TG will average 75 recruits who make it to PIR. When there is a group for a single division, there are generally only a handful of members, if that. If they are also members of their PIR group they end up posting the same things both places. There is a discussion within your PIR group for Divisions 269 and 270 and more people will connect with you there.

Have you seen the number of groups on N4M? There are currently 1,488 groups and if we can eliminate redundancy it is a good thing. I do hope that you follow the directions below to eliminate the extra group. Thanks.

There is no need for your group for the division. To remove a group, go to your group and click on “Options” in the upper right. Then click on “Edit Group.” Under “Members”, click “Approve all new members” and then click Save. Then Copy the URL to the group and go to “Report an Issue” at the bottom of the Page and click that. Click “Other” if it is not already selected and then ask Tiffany to remove your group and paste the URL. Thanks.

Join PIR 08/14/2015 TG 40 - 9 Divisions (267-274 and 940) to connect with others with loved ones training with your recruit.  Divisions 269 and 270 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There is a discussion within PIR 08/14/2015 TG 40 - 9 Divisions (267-274 and 940) for the two divisions. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
