OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If you take the person who is not on the Access List (the person will be able to get on base with the ID, but will be turned back at he Visitors Center where the ID is checked against the Access List), s/he will be asked to wait in the car, which could get very cold and uncomfortable, or leave the RTC.  Those who are not on the Access List are NOT to be on the RTC and should wait at the hotel or some other location away from the RTC.  There have been several discussions on this since the change in the fall to no stand-by.  It will do you no good to email PAO about this since it has been addressed many times.  Make sure your SR orders the DVD so that those who cannot attend will be able to see it later.  Take care and blessings to you and yours.

If you have a Facebook account - you will want to join the "closed" group called 900 division-Great Lakes.   They have pictures from all the graduations there, so we should be able to see our recruits in the photos the two weeks before their graduation since they have to perform in them.  You can alos see what the division wears.  :)
