Yep I think we found a match! I will ask Paul if his friend is an "okie" but when he texted me that we were on NM together I figured it had to be you! When he called me this morning he said his friend had just got orders to the same place. I was concerned he would be going out all by himself [ what a mom i am- he's 23 for goodness sakes!]. I just texted him to ask your question.

Ok he just texted back is your son David Ruppert? He didn't know what an "okie" was!!!!

Linthicum is near Baltimore- about 45 min away from us.

Well that is great that the guys have someone they know going to the same place. Paul PIR'd 5/26. Went in 4/5/10. His PIR group was one of the ones who finished early. Can't remember the term they use at the moment.

I asked a question on the Great Lakes group and one of the ladies is an officer at GL and gave me some great info about what Paul will be training for. Go on that group and read about it. Do you know what David's NEC number is?

That will tell you what he will be doing.

Kathy, they do get happy to see their new "ship" on the school side of the base; a microwave, frid and a few roommates is such a nice change up after bootcamp and throw in that laptop and cell...heaven! Our son is an FC and when he went to his C school - he even had his own washer and dryer! He called us three times the first night he arrived just in awe of the accomodations. Another reason why you son is so happy as it was taking MONTHs for them to class up and just recently they have narrowed that window to two week start date. Ohhh, we understand that Army/Navy ribbing - our son in law is Army (in Iraq) and ironically both he and my son share the same name...Nick. Guess that is to keep me confused!!! You'll enjoy the group - lots of good sharing there and everyone will be happy to hear that your son is classing up already!

Hi, wanted to welcome you to AECF group! Looks like you son just PIR-ed? We know how proud you must be of him! Is he going to be an ET or an FC when he graduates from A school? Our son is an FC and my hubby was for 10 years as well so we are partial to that rate but both rates are great rates with lots of schooling on the front end. Our group is an active one, stop by often and don't hesitate to ask questions. Have you met Lori in Oklahoma group - her son is an FC as well and she has a lot of experience as a Navy mom.
