OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My daughter joined June 2008. She graduated at he end of July. She was on medical hold because of an ankle injury. They kept her in Great Lakes until the beginning of Dec. '08, then she went to Pensacola for aviation. A soon as she got there she got put on hold again until June or July because of an ankle injury . They told her Aviation was too physically demanding, so she had to pick another job. Shewanted something she could use in a future job. She is now in Norfolk in her new job. At first she was disappointed This is a job she will never do outside the Navy, and she was totally unprepared for it in A school. Now she has been in Norfolk since September '08.She is learning her new job. She is good at making the best of any situation she is in, so she will be fine. She has never met a stranger so she doesn't have a problem moving around, in fact she already knew several people in Norfolk.
