OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).  Still limited to 2 guests maximum.

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 7/16/2021**

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Thanks.  I have created an actual spreadsheet to try and keep track of all our BC mom's and where they are.  It's a bit more confusing since so many have had set backs so i decided this made it way more easy to give accurate info and I can help connect folks who are in the same PIR groups as they move around!

I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!  Sorry I am late getting this welcome to you, but we are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor.  I see your daughter is in boot camp now, and that you have already joined in on our conversations on our group page.  Feel free to ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life.  We are all in different phases of our daughter’s Naval careers - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the Bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment.  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!

Rebecca1957 - If you did not see Partyofseven's post earlier - here is the link to NUKE moms please come join and introduce yourself - I have a discussion posted there - Nuke A school daily schedule - sailor's perspective

which my son helped me write when he was in Nuke A school. It gives you a little bit of an idea what they will be doing. This was written almost 3 years ago, and there are some changes due to COVID but hopefully some of our moms with sailors there currently will be able to give us updated information.

Here is the CS (Culinary Specialist) Moms   for your other daughter's rate.

There's also a Twins and Multiples group - it's not active right now (Co-Twin - the originator - both her sons are out now), but sometimes if you start posting you might get some new posters.  Here's the link if you want to check it out:

Rebecca1957 - Welcome to BC Moms group!! I am glad to see that you have already posted! That is great. B'sNukeMom shared the link for the Moms of Daughters group - there are a lot of very supportive women in that group as well. We all volunteer our time on this site, so I just like to remind new members that you will get as much out of the support and comradery here as you put into it. Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to!

We ask that our members not use a last name or email address in their Username - even if it differs from their Sailor's - so please head to “Settings” on the main page right away to set your new Username (be creative!) and add a profile image (no last names visible) to complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you.  We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
