OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Getting out of Navy

Started this discussion. Last reply by lemonelephant Dec 12, 2014. 37 Replies

My daughter, Samantha, and the Navy hasn't ever been a good combination.  As I talked with my daughter today, June 02, 2010, she has informed me that her drill weekends, which as we all know, are…Continue

Profile Information

A little about me:
I have three children, my daughter is a reservist, my son is in SARs and going on deploymnent the end of May, my other son is in the DEP program right now and will ship out in July. Then it will only be my husband and myself at home. I am trying to find a full time job working in an office as a secretary instead of the part time job I have at school now where my children attended. I enjoy bike riding, walking, cooking, baking, reading and gardening. Anything that gets me outside is what I really enjoy. Sometimes just a quiet moment of not doing anything is a refresher for me. I attend church.

Grad-N-Go

Posted on August 16, 2010 at 9:30pm 3 Comments

My son is a grad n go also. I will be driving from PA to The Great Lakes 10 hours to see him graduate from boot camp, get to visit with my son until 8 pm that night, then he leaves the following morning for the airport before the sun is up. I will be meeting my son at the airport to give him his overnight bag of civies. I will need tissues with me because I won't be enjoying seeing him off again so soon. He is going to SC, so maybe I can visit there. The drive will be as long as it was to get… Continue

Memorial Day and its importance to me!

Posted on May 30, 2010 at 8:06pm 1 Comment

I have always been proud of all the past and present servicemen and servicewomen and have always honored them in any way possible. Now, I have a different appreciation for the servicemen and servicewomen since my three children are part of the Navy. My daughter, Samantha, is a reservist, my older son, John, is full-time SARs and deployed now and heading overseas, my younger son, Matthew, is a DEPPER and ships out in July. Any time a news broadcast talks about the military, I stop in my…

My apologies in the delay in getting back to you. Thank you for the friend request. My N4M "addressbook" – is still acting stupidly. When I select a friend to send a message, the person I checked is not always the person who receives the message. I just made my profile page viewable by any N4M members. Please feel free to leave me a message on my profile page and I’ll comment back. Typically, private messages are use for communicating issues that are more personal in nature. Let me know if you have something more private to talk about. Talk to you soon. BunkerBee.

Welcome to N4M. Your key to adjusting is finding a group where you can feel comfortable and get answers to your questions – Click on the underlined links:
1. New Moms Stop Here group. You should think of this group as your orientation station. We do have a number of experienced members who can answer questions and point you in the right direction.
2. Depper’s… in but not yet . is a group for those just waiting for bootcamp to start (Delayed Entry Program – a depper)
3. Boot Camp Moms group. Is he/she already in bootcamp? Or just about to go in? This is the group.

Read this blog to get a jump start on how to use the N4M site.
Welcome to New Members
Of particular importance is the use of the “Search” function. You should do searches in blogs, forums, discussions for answers in previously posted threads BEFORE adding a NEW blog/discussion. Finally, it takes time to learn how to use this site. Be patient. Check your page (Click on MY PAGE) & status box often.
