Hi:  My son Aaron is in Ship 11 Division 284 also.  I just got his letter yesterday.  I feel like a huge weight is off my shoulders.  I was so worried about him..He seems good in his letter though.  I wonder if our sons know each other.  I just got his address yesterday from his recruiter (I called in the am since I'd gotten no letter).  So I sent him a letter yesterday morning, then got his funny little form letter yesterday afternoon.  My daughter and I thought it looked like a little hostage letter! lol  So just put another letter off in the mail today. I booked our tickets out through southwest this a.m.!

oh, duh...i guess this is how I reply.  My son is in Ship 11 division 284.  I was so relieved to finally get his letter.  We laughed at his little neat hand-writing.  We said it looked like a little hostage letter! lol  He even made a joke at the end which was a huge relief to me!  I feel like a 10 ton weight has been lifted off my shoulders!  I"m so happy he's made it this far!  The whole first week he was gone I had dreams I'd wake up in the middle of the night and find him sitting on the door-step! lol

Hey, I see you're in gardendale. I  live in Clay/Pinson and my son is in his 5th week of boot camp. i have been on this website for awhile and it has been a great help.  I received his box on Friday after he left on Sunday, his dad got the form letter on Thursday, and i got my first real letter 3 weeks letter. i just got my 2nd letter last Friday. Still no phone call. Whne you get his ship/division, PIR date, hook up with them and then you will knida know when to expect letters and calls, plus you get info from other Moms that their children tell them. Have a good day and remember, time goes alot faster than you thought it would.
