She called yesterday and her Dad and I both, with my best friend who has watched her grow up, got to talk to her.  She cried the whole time of course!  She said that they are all sick and had to get shots but passed her PT test and got a ribbon in firearms and can't wait to see us.    It's funny I had all this stuff planned to say to her and ask her and when I heard her voice it all went out the window!!!  LOL  I also cried all night but that's ok we are both going through a growing up period!  I know it will get easier as time goes on for both of us.  I do know it gets easier being seperated as time goes on I have one son who has lived in AZ for six years.  I still miss him but not as much.  My husband said we will have good vacation spots because hopefully we will get military discounts when we visit her.  Something to look forward too!

Hello I've been sitting outside this week enjoying some good weather for a change.  How long has your son been in the Navy?  This has been so hard, she is our only daughter and the youngest.  On top of her leaving we are dealing with empty nest too.  She needed to join the Navy there is nothing left in Ohio anymore and she is young enough to enjoy the experience of traveling.  She seems to be doing okay, I've been writing her three to four times a week and can't wait for April 1st PIR!

Hi Shirley My daughter is still in boot camp and her PIR is 4/1.  She is my youngest and only girl so was very spoiled.  I was very surprised when she decided to join the Navy.  This has been so tough not seeing her or knowing what she is going through!  She sounds like she likes it and is trying hard.  Her A school is Corpsman and and she will be in GL.  Any suggestions on how to make this easier would be great.  This site has really helped me alot!
