Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Yo tambien doy gracias a Dios por estos citios, segun you soy muy fuerte y no iba a nesecitarlo y el tercer dia de no poder contener el llanto ya fue que decidi, buscar alluda.  TODO VA A ESTAR BIEN, ES UNA PROMESA,  es super normal que no dejes de pensar en ella ni un momento. Aunque despues de que la veas vas a quedarte super tranquila y ahora si vas a pensar en ella Diariamente y yo creo que por el resto de nuestras vidas pero ya de diferente manera, ya no con tanta afliccion.  Asi fue la llamada de mi hijo, el si se quebro un poco y lo escuche llorar y yo tube que contenerme para  darle fuerzas.  El dia que se gradue, bueno El esta en Great Lakes, Illinois.

 

La graduacion de el fue el Viernes como a las 9 de la manana.  Nosotros llegamos el Jueves, Rentamos carro, nos instalamos en el hotel y El viernes nos fuimos muy temprano, a las 6:30 de la manana ya dejan entrar, pero la seremonia comienza a las 9:00.  No se te olvide imprimer el pase para entrar a la Base, cuando te mandan la carta como de  5 hojas ahi te dicen como imprimiro, solo esta disponible cuando faltan exactamente 11 dias para el dia de la graduacion.  Lleva un sueter porque si llegas temprano vas a pasar una hora y media o dos sentada esperando y aunque en chicago esta Calientisimo el clima (Bueno porque yo soy de California) el aire acondicionado ahi cuando esperas esta super Heladooooo.

Primero cuando entras al lugar donde va a ser la seremonia estan varios Sailors en guardia junto a el letrero donde esta cada Numer de Division,  Buscas el numero de la division de tu hija y te sientas ahi frente a esa seccion porque cuando entran ellos se acomodan de acuerdo a su division. 

Durante la Ceremonia ella no puede voltear a verte, tienen que estar bien firmes, con su mirada ella te va a buscar y creeme que nos encuentran,  no te pongas make up porque se te va a caer, ahi no puedes contener las lagrimas.  bueno al terminar la ceremonia entonces ellos rompen linea y se van donde tu estas o tu puedes ir donde ella este y  pasar unos 20 minutos media hora o lo que ella crea conveniente porque tiene que ir a cambiar sus cosas al lugar a donde va a vivir durante el tiempo que este en la escuela.  Esto es si su A school es ahi en chicago.  El de mi hijo ahi es asi que despues de la seremonia estuvimos un rato y se fue a arreglar lo de su escuela y como a las tres de la tarde me hablo para que fuera a recojerlo.  Fui y lo llevamos al cuarto de hotel porque quedan bien cansados, claro primero quiso ir a comer.  En la noche hay que regreasarlos y el Sabado otra vez me hablo cuando ya estaba listo para salir, y pasamos todo el Sabado con el pero en la Noche a regresarlo a la Base, y el Domingo es lo mismo. Si tiene celuar ya lo pueden utilizar pero ella te dira cuando es el momento que se lo des.  Wow, en dos meses obtienen una madurez increible.  Ahora si lo extrano pero se que esta bien donde esta.  Bueno espero te allude algo, y cualquier pregunta aqui estamos para alludarnos.

Hola yamisproudmom, bien venida a este viaje dificil pero muy satisfactorio al final y sobre todo durante el camino.  Mi hijo se graduo en Agosto 3, y despues de aver asistido a esa maravillosa graduacion y conocer el lugar donde esta, definitivamente me quedo una sensacion de tranquilidad.  Aun no me acostumbro a no verlo en casa, creo que eso jamas va a suceder por lo que veo, es mi primer hijo hombre, el primero hijo que tuve, y el primero que vuela del nido.  No es una jornada facil pero si una bien importante para el.
