Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Gunner's mate info wanted

My son left for bc on 9/1. He will stay in Great Lakes for A school to be gunner's mate. What can you tell me about the training program? Length? Does it start right after graduation?

My son joined the Navy Aug 31, 2010

Hello, I am new here and I am a Airforce wife and when my sone decided to join the Navy we were very proud. Only thing is I have no idea about anything with the Navy. He got a job as a QM, Quarter Master. Can anyone tell me about this job? They gave him a date of Aug 8, 2011 and he wants to leave today!lol..He is in the DEP for now. I have 4 children. Confused Depper....

My son signed a contract as AO and set to leave for BC in November. He has been unsure about the rate he choose but extremely excited to start his life in the Navy. Looking for a rate that can be benefical to him when he returns, he mentioned an opportunity to change to his recuriter, only to be brushed off.

After time he told his Chief Petty Office and a request was made for Machanical Engineer. He was told that they should know something in about a week. Is this true? Did he…

I Want it to Stop

I was amazed today to see that there are over 38,000 members of Navy for Moms. I've been a very active member for over a year. There probably hasn't been more than 3 days in a row that I haven't posted, read comments from groups I belong to, and sent private messages. Just found out when my child leaves for boot camp

My child has signed up for Air Crewman Program. The desire is to be a rescue swimmer then a rescue driver. When do they take the test for this? At boot camp or at A school?
