What a great day!

I had a great day yesterday!  My husband and our future son-in-law had gone out for the day.  My daughter went to work.  My son (SR) was still in bed.  I was just vegging and watching mindless tv.  When my son woke up, he asked where everyone was and I told him.  He then asked me to go to lunch with him.  We went to a delightful diner and chatted and ate.  Then we went to the mall and just wandered around (didn't buy a thing!) and then took a scenic drive home!  It was a great day spending…

Life is changing

My situation seems to be a bit different than those I have read about!  I grew up in Titusville, Fl.  I met a wonderful man who was down on vacation (visiting his Aunt & Uncle who I was friends with).  He was from Ontario Canada.  To make a long story short - we were married 2 years later and I moved to Ontario.  We had 3 children (2 daughters and 1 son).  We raised them to not only be proud Canadians, but proud Americans also.  We established their dual citizenships early on.  My oldest… Continue

Almost!!!!

My son was called by his recruiter on Friday that she had heard about his medical waiver.  Apparently it's being reviewed now and they needed his file sent to them (for the 3rd time) and he should know by the end of this week!  I sure hope so!  Of course, then it's a wait to get back to MEPS and pick a job (if there are any available) and then the wait for BC.  So our waiting is not over with yet - but....at least we know that the NAVY is looking at his case now!

Just maybe

My son talked to his recruiter on Friday!  She told him that she was told that we should hear back on his medical waiver by this Friday!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Waiting - but showing some signs of progress?

My son's recruiter is just as puzzled by the lack of response for his medical waiver!  She has reapplied for it and will be on it and should know within 2 weeks.  I know that's what they said the last time - but I'm encouraged that the recruiter is getting just as aggravated as the rest of us!  So I am happy and most importantly, my son is happier!  We know that there will probably still be quite the wait until boot camp, but it's the not knowing that is the killer!  Thanks for the kind…

Still Waiting

It's been over  a month now and still have not heard anything back about my son's medical waiver.  He was asked at MEPS if he'd seen a chiropractor.  He answered honestly and said yes.  Only for bad posture/basketball.  Wasn't referred by GP or anything.  Covered by health insurance - so I said sure go ahead.  Needed file and letter from chiropractor faxed to them that he wasn't seeing him for an injury, they were faxed the day he came home from MEPS!  I can not figure out why this is taking so… Continue

Waiting

My son went to MEPS in Aug.  Scored fairly well on his ASVAB, passed the physical, and the medical - except they saw that he'd seen a chiropractor...So we had to get the records and statement that he was fit to join and he is now waiting for his medical waiver to come through!  He checks in with his recruiter at least 1x a week to check and see if there's any news of the waiver going through.  Nothing yet.  It's frustrating for him and is making me crazy.  I see by other posts that some people… Continue
