Question

I am just curious....my son spent two weeks in P-days and is finally starting his training this week.  How do they stay on schedule for their PIR which is exactly 8 weeks from when he arrived and they already lost the first two weeks?

Received the form letter today :-)

My son is Ship 11 Div 396 PIR 10/18,  I am concerned because his recruiter gave me Ship 11 Div 340 which was wrong and I mailed something to that Div.  I just hope he still gets it.  I received the letter on the 10th day.  I thought I would never get it.  Then tonight as I was cleaning up after dinner I was surprised to hear his voice on the other end of my phone.  He was able to call me.  Apparently he was really homesick so they allowed him a 5 min phone call just to hear our voices.  I…

No form letter yet :-(

I received his box on Friday, but I have not received the letter yet.  I am hoping it will be coming this week, the suspense is killing me.  I want to know his address, and when his PIR date is so that I can start planning our trip out there,

1 down and seven more weeks to go.

Today marks the first full week my son is in Boot Camp.  I am pretty sure he is done with his P-days so maybe this is his first full week of training.  As I have read on here that no news is good news, so I am assuming everything is ok.  I miss him terribly and I thought it would get easier but until I hear from him I won't be at ease.  I often wonder what he is doing right now.  So hard to concentrate on things when all I can think of is him.

1 week down and 7 more to go.  I…

Received the box today :-(

I came home from having lunch with some friends and the box was sitting on my coffee table, my youngest son had signed for it.  I have to say I broke down. I was reluctant to open it but I am glad I did.  I don't know how I am going to make it the whole 8 weeks.  It is much harder than I thought it would be.  I have had 8 months to prepare for this and I still can't handle it.  I contacted his recruiter this morning and he gave me my son's address so I mailed him a letter with some stamps…
