Today marks the first full week my son is in Boot Camp.  I am pretty sure he is done with his P-days so maybe this is his first full week of training.  As I have read on here that no news is good news, so I am assuming everything is ok.  I miss him terribly and I thought it would get easier but until I hear from him I won't be at ease.  I often wonder what he is doing right now.  So hard to concentrate on things when all I can think of is him.

1 week down and 7 more to go.  I am just counting down the days!

Hi DavidsNavyMom, My name is Julie and my daughter Kayla left on August 20, 2013.. She will be there exactly 1 week tomorrow.. I can totally relate to what your going through.. I miss my daughter so much that my emotions are still like a rollercoaster.. I am praying that once I hear from her that I will feel better. I just dont like the unknown of how she is feeling and if she is ok..  I just have to have faith in God that he is watching over all our kids and i will continue to pray that all our kids will get through this and will make a good life for themselves. I am here for you... Julie

To Goldwingmom and Julie,

Thank you, as each day goes by I miss him more and more.  He is my oldest of 3 boys and I am not used to being separated from him for that long.  It is the unknown that scares me too.  However, as I said before "No news is good news"  I am sure they are working hard and adjusting to their new lives, it is just tough that we can't be there for them.  I have found a tremendous amount of support on this site, it is nice because everyone else has the same emotions.  When you talk to someone who does not have someone in the service it is hard from them to understand what we are going through.  Let's all keep in touch and support each other and it will all be worth it in the end.  I will continue to believe that God and my loved ones are watching over him and I will continue to pray for all the recruits in Boot Camp.

Congratulations New Sailor Mom!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you and your sailor! Thanks so much for the encouragement and support, my son leaves Oct.1 for BC and you know what I'm going through right now. I'd sure like to have you on my team as we enter this unknown territory. I've watched all the videos, read all the info, but am still apprehensive, this is my baby, my only son that I'm letting go of.  Can't wait till PIR!  Where are you from?  Did you drive or fly to PIR?  We live in OK, but are planning to drive to Great Lakes, my son will fly out of Dallas.  Did you go with hom to the airport, I have plans to stay with him as long as I can.  We've never been very far apart for any length of time.  Please help me and so many others get through BC!!! God bless you and your son!!!
