OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Note to self---Invest in a clock that is set up to reflect sandbox time and date rather than central standard time

Acck @ 10.5 hour time difference.Sometimes I get confused when my deployed Sea Bee contacts me.

Seems I'm not exactly sure when we are relaying events to each other what is really today, or yesterday, or gosh maybe it's tomorrow already? When my daughter says she's going to call tomorrow. That means tomorrow in her time zone NOT mine. It could mean she's calling me again today in my time zone, or 2 days from now in my time zone depending on what time it is there when we are speaking.…

Tis the season to be jolly.....or deployed

Shame on the whiners and complainers at the airport this morning. The handful of young men and women that TSA passed through the line without making them wait aren't going on vacation. They're deploying on their very first mission away from home. What a way to send off our military by screaming at them how much longer YOU waited in line. Guess who will be defending… Continue

Boot camp makes the heart grow fonder.....

My oldest child, my beloved and only daughter left for boot camp a week ago today. It's been a wild and exciting ride thus far! I never knew my heart could feel so many emotions in such little time. Yesterday, I received the form letter and the box within an hour of each other, and it felt like Christmas!
