Good Morning,

I know just how you feel! my son left for BC April 16th and I did not hear a word of how he was doing for three weeks. I was a basket case. But once he did call, just like the others he was fine. Yes, it's an adjustment but a good one. My son said he was homesick the first week and sick with 102 fever. He missed the seminar where they are told to send this form letter home with their address on it. I called his recruiter and got his address. Not hearing form him when all the other moms were was even more frustrating. It was harder on me then it was on him. As you read all the other moms blogs, it's all the same. It's just we have never been away from our son's without talking to them. Remember the first 5 days are physicals, haircuts, paperwork etc, You should get his box of personal belongings Monday or Tuesday followed by a form letter with his address on it. If you don't get that in a week call his recruiter, he can get you his address. Start writing him when you get that address. My son said the letters helped so much. You probably won't receive one for about two weeks because they are so busy. Just remember to hang in there and remember we all went through what you are and we are all here for you. It still doesn't make it easy.. So hang in there!!!

My daughter left 4/3/13. Hang in there. The days drag at first.(the first 3 wks) and now? After speaking with her a couple times and countless letters we are only 3 weeks until PIR. This is a great site for support.Wishing you the and your SR the best!!!

Just to let you know I still have not received the form letter. But Noelle Blues Mom is so right. At first it's so HARD but then after you speak to your SR you will be fine, just knowing that he is. Thank you, you are our support as well..
