Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I'm excited for you!!!  I am starting my week with positive thoughts that I will get my letter today!  I stole the mailbox key so that no one will ruin it for me!

I'm happy that you have received the form letter. I guess you should count Wednesdays instead of Fridays. In 7 Wednesdays you will be hugging your brand new US Navy Sailor following PIR. He should have been able to write for the first time yestrday and it would have gone out today, so perhaps you will get a "real" letter later this week.

Oh thank you for the information I will be waiting for his letter I send him two letters today do you know when will he be able to receive my letter do they have one day in the week to receive letters.

Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit willl give you info on letters. They have Mail Call every weekday (M-F) evening, but the first one is not until 1-3 or 1-4 DOT.

Hello awhitaker933. my son is in ship 3 div 253 also. you are the first one i have found with child in same ship/div. how have you been holding up? i myself went through a bit of depression. but doing alright now. ive talked to my SR three times now, and he writes regularly. im a bit overwhelmed with all the PIR details. this is my first time commenting on this site. but could use the support.

Hi T.j mom this process is harder than I thought me I cry everyday I miss my son so much I try to focus in the PIR that is almost here and I will be able to see him I receive a letter last Friday dated June 2 the last call I receive was on Sunday 2 at that time he told he probably won't be able to call me in two weeks my son is also in ship 3 div 253 is also nice to know someone from the same div.
