For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

BLOG OPS” PIR 05/26/2011: PIR! I hit an earlier subject…
The “cloudy” situation.
Hmmm…well here is my little cloud that I had when going to PIR:
Okay…not really, but it’s almost as cute as that:
This boy is my bud…especially when DH was gone. He goes everywhere with me…weather permitting.
He’s my working dog…sheep…and I couldn’t get by without him!
His one major downfall? Seperation Anxiety. He’s a mommas boy!
Or
…vice versa? It’s both!
This is the dog that walks in my “blind spot”.
“Where is Kep?”
“Mom…he’s right behind you?”
Turn, turn to the left…quick right…HA…caught you…there he is!
He’s been known to follow me into the port-a-potty…I know TMI.
So we’re on the plane…and I say for the umpteenth time, “Keppie has such bad separation anxiety…I hope he’s okay.”
Fireteam2 says, “WHO has such bad separation anxiety?!”
Where’s the emergency door?…yeah might need to let SOMEONE off early! LOL
He’s right though! I settled after that! Still missed him, but had so much fun with the two-legged creatures!

I lost this beautiful boy on January 24th, 2015. Just two months shy of his 15th birthday. He'll live in my heart always...which is the best place to bury a good dog.
