My bf jus left for bootcamp yesterday and im still kinda new to this Navy thing so i have a few things that i need some answers to if possible. My first question is how long is bootcamp and when does he graduate? When he does graduate where will it be and will i have to fly there? The big worry i really have is A school. Since it is in Florida there are ALOT of beautiful women out there. Ive heard stories and even seen some videos of what the sailor do in their spare time. How can i be assured that he will not be tempted? And how can i reassure him that I will not be tempted either? Any advice u can give i would really appreciate it.

Bootcamp runs about eight weeks from the time he is processed. Graduation is held in Great Lakes, IL and O'hare airport is the closest airport to the base. He will be able to write letters home but the first one takes two to three weeks to arrive. Do you have a good relationship with his parents?

I am going through the same thing you are f!reb!rd. My boyfriend is about to graduate this coming Friday from Great Lakes and has A-school there as well. I am new to the whole Navy girlfriend thing. It was really hard for me to not hear from him for the first 3 weeks, but once you get that first letter it will hopefully cure any doubt you may have. I think as long as you have good communication with him and know that your bond with him is strong then you should have nothing to worry about. My boyfriend has told me stories about what they go through there in boot camp, it is intense to say the least. I went crazy not hearing from him but if you keep yourself busy the time will fly. My boyfriend has been gone since May 24th and honestly the weeks really fly by especially after you start getting letters from him! Maybe you and I can stay in contact and help each other understand the whole Navy thing!!
