Today is day 2 that Brandon left for basic training.  It is really a hard adjustment at home.  We were blessed that my father in law is a comissioned retired Naval Capt. and got to do his swearing in.  That was bittersweet, I lost my father 4 weeks ago.... hard sad times.  I cannot wait for my hugs in OCT.  for now, just a sad mom!!!

We are a retired military family I don't think I realized how hard it was going to be. Jake left on Tuesday today I picked up the phone to call to ask him to go buy dog food:( my house is too quiet.

I'm sure your emotions are alll over the place at this time. I know I don't even know you but, take each day as it comes and whatever emotions you feel don't hold them back. Only us as mothers can feel all these different feelings all at once.It does ease up a bit and there are those down times .Then as much as you miss your son, that little part of him come back either in "the box " everybody talks about or a letter or call.Hang in there Brandon'sMom.:)

I know how difficult it is. My errand runner was no more. That saying "you don't know what you have until it's gone." It will get better. You'll get the box, you'll cry. I giggled because her panties were all twisted. You'll get that form letter. And then that first letter. I got 3 that day. I read and read and reread. Be sure to write daily. You could just send cards if it's easier. I know it's hard but stay positve. He knows you've gone through a tough time but keep it positive for him right now. He'll need that. The time will go quickly. I promise. It seems like bc was so long ago but my sailor has been in 6 months and has done so much.

Prayers for you during this time. My heart goes out to you. Remember, he chose to serve with the best. I'm very proud to have him serve.

My son just left on 8/14 we live in Hawaii so he arrived on the 15th waiting fr his called seemed like it was forever but i got it around 3:30 pm Hawaii time.  its been a really emotional roller coaster for me.  He is my oldest and my only son.  Since the day he left I've been writing and talking to his girlfriend who is also emotional wreck.  We're waiting for his box I was told by another mother who lives here she got it the Monday after so that would be today.  I come on here because everyone has been so supportive and understand my feelings.   Thank you everyone for words of encouragement.

Each of you are SO PRECIOUS!!!  Every word is in my heart.  I did laugh because the clothes were just tossed.  Waiting on the PIR letter!!  I have my good days and bad days.  Between Daddy and Brandon this is hard, but I am so blessed with each of you!!!
