Got up from the buzz at the door, it was the delivery agent with my passport in his hand. He asked me to gsgn the thing and left. I was gobsmacked when I saw that I was granted a TEN year visa! It was more than I asked for and expected. There is no doubt about it, God is so good all the time!

Last night, for some unknown reason, I found myself booking my flight in the midlle of the night. I kept going for 3-4 hours until I got the e-ticket.  It's gonna be a long journey to and from Great Lakes but I am sure my angel is going to lead my way. I am also sure that I can manage the long flights with my overflowing adrenaline.

One thing that I kept asking myself, "Would it be easy to let go of my son after liberty expires"? It might be an emotional struggle for me but I have to remind myself that he needs to continue the journey to where he is destined to be . PIR is just a quick stop over in this journey and I should be glad to be present in all the stop overs. I shall remain to be the strong person that I am even though just the thought of leaving him behind (again) hurts too much!

I am reminded of the hurtful days my son and I had gone thru everytime I left for Saudi Arabia when he was aged 4, 7, and 11. I guess those experiences somehow gave us an advantage of being the strong person we both are. It is amazing that even though we lived separately most of our lives, we both are so attached emotionally and that is the miracle of motherhood.

I am glad that you have received your passport and will be able to travel to GL for your son's PIR.  Passports are generally for 10 years by the way and are not the same as a Visa.

Hi lemonelephant! thank you for your comment...btw, i renew my passport every 5 years and the US tourist visa that was newly stamped in my passport expires in 2022...the US embassy people are just so generous... i really don't need that much coz i'd be processing my british citizenship in 2014 which means that i wouldn't need any visa anymore if i tour... not unless my son wants to petition me....i would be needing an immigrant visa for that.... : )
