I am working to get donations for gift bags..and its coming together getting more help from family and friends than the community I live in..Have filled out necessary paperwork for my sons high school and grade school and the local walmart on the 1st of October and put up flyers and contacted others by email. And not even a phone call to say no..I read on here and fb how well everyone else is doing  with donations and while it is awesome for  our service men and women..I am getting upset a little that my community just does not seem to care..maybe I just care too much..but I do thank my friends and family for all their help and support..God will provide..I have been buying each week and I will persevere..I never fail at what I put mind to doing because God supports me and he will fill my  need..God bless all our service men and women..and comfort all of us awaiting their return..needed to vent..

Is not that people don't care - sometimes it's simply people are on overload when it comes to contributions. The schools, the churches, Fire Department, police organizations, etc. We contributed once to a MS foundation. Now we are on mailing list for every disease known to mankind.

I went thru it 4 years ago. Everyone said, "Yeh, I'll contribute to sending packages. Just go get the stuff and I'll reimburse you."  I got stuck paying for $200+ worth of stuff from Costco - this was for Molly's group.

So I understand your frustration. Good luck.
