Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

He has ask !

After 4 plus years my son Alex has finally ask Amylia to  marry him..I am so Happy for them..She is very sweet young girl..and i welcome her as my daughter..Her family is awesome too..I know that I am lucky that God has brought them into our lives..I am so proud that God picked me to be the mom of 2 awesome boys..and now he has blessed me with a girl..Alex took her to Disney world and ask in front of the big castle.She was so surprised..Now shes trying to plan the wedding for next year here…

getting frustrated

I am working to get donations for gift bags..and its coming together getting more help from family and friends than the community I live in..Have filled out necessary paperwork for my sons high school and grade school and the local walmart on the 1st of October and put up flyers and contacted others by email. And not even a phone call to say no..I read on here and fb how well everyone else is doing  with donations and while it is awesome for  our service men and women..I am getting upset a…

Holiday project

This is my sons first deployment. and i am so excited that i will be able to help with the gift bags for christmas..I have posted it on my fb and i am getting a lot of friends and family wanting to help. but still trying to get more help..for sure doing 25 and if all goes well i will be able to triple it..and having cards made by children to included  i think the sailors will love getting them..will be contacting few more resources in the next week..I am so lucky to have good friends and…

just hanging in...lol

I just mailed off.. the 4th and 5th care package alex says its only taking 10 days right now..not sure how long that will last. One has some goodies for another shipmate that wanted a little so was more than glad to send it for my son to get it to him..My son said he didn't want a full care package so sent a gallon baggie full of candy thats why the box bulged out...lol.. and filled the rest with more candy and coffee and stuff that i know my son probably does not need and a note that said…

maintaining a month after deployment.

Its been a month.since Alex left. Its been an emotional time..I am a very proud of my son..But its truly hard not to be able to contact him by phone..to hear his voice and know hes okay..I mailed him 2 care packages. Being the first time I had done it. I may have went over board...cost 90.00 for priority to mail them..but it will be well worth every penny..when he gets them..mailed the 6th of August..still waiting for him to receive them..I wanted him to get them before is birthday but its…

Deployment

My son has left for his first deployment..aboard the USS TRUMAN July 22 2013..Not sure how to feel i am very proud of Alex. He is a very grown young man and had gotten to come home for a 9 days before he left..and has been living in Norfolk with his lovely girlfriend Amylia. for a while now but its still hard to know that hes away from us for 6 to 9 months.only contact by email. Knowing when i worry that i cant just reach out by phone..and here I am fine mom..lol

new to this

my son graduated boot camp march 19th 2010. I was lucky enough to get to go. The mistake was driving 1100 plus miles one way left late Wednesday and returning by 6am Monday. the driving was murder it was me and 3 other ladies most of the driving fell to me do to several reasons but any way it was a lesson learned and not repeated.
