Its been a month.since Alex left. Its been an emotional time..I am a very proud of my son..But its truly hard not to be able to contact him by phone..to hear his voice and know hes okay..I mailed him 2 care packages. Being the first time I had done it. I may have went over board...cost 90.00 for priority to mail them..but it will be well worth every penny..when he gets them..mailed the 6th of August..still waiting for him to receive them..I wanted him to get them before is birthday but its going to be later.I told him after i sent them (through email) that he may have to share and have a party cause he may not have a place to keep so many goodies..and told him he got a tablet for his gift but could not mail it..because the mail some times or could end up in the water..

I do get an email when he can get a minute to send a couple of lines..and he did text my phone the other day.said he finally found out how to text from his email..its always brief but i enjoy getting anything..also got a postcard from France.

and that was a very happy day for me..He said he wanted to call me on the 15th (birthday) but did not have time.I told him that any calls that he could make should go to his girlfriend Amylia..and then if he had extra time he could give me a call..He is her Sailor now..And she should be his first thought. Mom will be here when she is needed and will always know that she is loved. Its just hard to see him all grown up..

Going to send him battery operated fan.He says the temps where he is working is 107/125 .. its funny my nephew was in the navy and i remember him writing from boot camp up to his deployments that he was freezing...So for Christmas last year i bought everything from hand warmers to thick socks...then he say mom i will never be cold in my department..lowest it might get is 100 degrees.. lol

I have good days and bad days..and then i also believe that he does not need any bad news from home..and we are going through some..and hoping that it can and will wait till he comes home. its not a immediate family member for him.but is for me..(sister) but i let God guide me and he will get us through this as he has many other things in my life..Sorry not wanting to bring anyone down just needing to vent a little..

God Bless all our Service men and Women keep them safe and Give us comfort and patience at home Lord...amen

yes i had ordered the boxes from usps the day he left 7/21/13 they still had not arrived on the 6th of August waiting on them is the reason they was not mailed in time for his birthday 8/15....they finally arrived on the 12th of august...i will be using them..for the next care packages..and no i was advised my a wife of a former sailor in the same nuke field.. who said the bad news from home caused her husband many problems and then finally a discharge...so i will not be telling him this awful  news until hes home..there is nothing he can do and he would worry..its the kinda of man he is...thank you so much for your kind and help full advice..praying for all our service men and women.

Cecelia, hugs to you. Your news touched my heart as I recently lost a brother and my son is away in the navy. Not on deployment yet although it is looming. My brother is the first real loss for my son and it was unexpected so was anxious about having to tell him away from home. All was ok, he was able to come home. If he was on deployment when this occurred, I would not have told him. Prayers for your sister and best of luck to your son.

eljac913 (Ship 12 Div 053)  I am so sorry for your loss..and thank you so much for your understanding..i do know what its like to lose a sibling..My sister was just diagnosed with lung cancer and its going to be a long road ahead for her. and i will do all i can to help of course..but i will cherish all my time with her..and spend more time with her..We all have separate lives. And we forget how precious all our friends and family are..And i also know that God will take care of her..we lost our mom and dad many years ago and another sister a few years back..with her it was totally unexpected so we have gotten closer but this will make us closer than ever and hoping and praying it will do the same for her and her 4 boys..again tyvm for the kindness..and God Bless you and your family....God Bless all our Service men and women and comfort all of us at home waiting there return..

Thank you Cece for your kind words.  Agree...God Bless all of our Service personnel for their willingness to sacrifice so much. I am glad you have the time with your sister.  You are right...life is busy and we get so involved and forget the little things sometimes.  Enjoy your time with your sister.  Prayers for you and your family.

My dear Cecelia, first of all let me give you a real big hug and know that please come here since (I think) this is the perfect place to talk, vent, cry, share pride, etc... and be perfectly understood! I recently told a Mom that BC is tough, but be aware that the tears don't end there (someone has to be realistic)... Deployments can be quite stressful at times, especially when our Sailor is not able to contact you as frequently as you'd like (few computers vs a ship full of SRs). But you know what? They're trained... and know what to do! I worried sick during my daughter's deployments [she is not active anymore, but is now a Navy wife :-)], however, she says if she could do it all again, she would and is still passionate about her rate! Go figure!
My daughter has told me Care Packages take a month or so to get delivered, so paying extra will not have a package get there any sooner... Remember, the fleet is out in the middle of somewhere!
I would suggest not giving too many details to your son regarding your sister's health, particularly if he's close to her, but I think you should let him know she's currently not doing well (you know, sugar-coat the issue and try not to let your true feelings come through on your communication) and yes, that's really hard!
Cece, I wish you & your sister the best and may God give you all the emotional and spiritual comfort you need. Lots of health for your sister and may God protect your Sailor. ~Hugs~

thank you very much for your comfort and advice and hugs.. Lauryburg ...yes i under stand about paying extra for the care packages.the flat rate boxws.had not arrived from usps so the ones i mailed were a lot bigger than the flat rate boxes are in the package..but lesson learned...on the good side hes getting double the goodies so its ok..but will use the flat rate boxes from here on out..and i am so impressed with the coments and advice from each one who responded to my blog.it gives me a since that there are still a lot of good hearted people in our world..again thak you all very much...God Bless all our Service men and women and comfort all of us at home waiting there return..
