For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hard Day

I didn't get to blog yesterday because I was moving into my dorm and at a hotel. I was thinking about not blogging every day but I had a rough morning. Someone in my family passed away. Not a close family member but I get sad every time someone dies. Usually my SR would notice I was down from my texting and call me. If we could, he'd demand I skype and tell him what happened. Obviously that couldn't happen today and that sucked.

After that I moved back into my dorm. I was excited because the plant he gave me for our one month anniversary is still alive. All I wanted to do was tell him. Then I unpacked some of the stuff he gave me to keep for him. It smelled just like him and his house. Then I realized I forgot one of his chargers and I just felt awful like I had screwed up. My mom said she'll mail it to me when she found it. It was just a rough day with the death and then wanting to talk to him and then having his stuff. Thanks for reading as always. Talk to y'all later.
