Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

I am in a little better mood got to hear my sons voice on the phone tonight. He said he is doing as well as to expected since it is boot  camp. He said see you at graduation, so I think we are going to try and make it happen. He also said he sent a letter with his graduation date. Now I am more hopefully and alittle more at ease....Still miss him but that is to be expected.

OK. first thing first, you'll be getting the form letter soon. It'll have his graduation date, his address, the password to printing the parking pass and the four people on his "guest list" for PIR (Pass In Review, ie. graduation from boot camp).

You sound like you are really squared away and doing great. We have gathered up our resources and put them together in one place which we like to share with you. The survival guide was written for new members.

Please study the information provided in the survival guide. If you go through this, you'll will have a pretty good idea of what your recruit is going through. Watch the videos, look at the diagram. There are links to other important sites (like the RTC site, the Boot Camp Moms groups). You should join the Boot Camp Moms group ASAP.

I promise you if you take the time out to read all the stuff, you will have a much better understanding of how everything works.  Don't worry if you don't get everything on the first read.

Good luck to your recruits. Be patient. Stay calm. Have lots of tissue ready because those tear floodgates open almost always unexpectedly.

Take care, BQB
