My son has a graduation date of November 4, 2011. What do you typically wear to the ceremony. I have never been to anything like this so this is all new to me! Also does anyone know anything about the 4 tickets they give out for graduation? We have four adults going and I have 5 children ages 14 - 4 years old. From what I understand the younger children do not count against the 4 tickets, however Im wondering if my 14 year old has to have a ticket? Is it true that whoever doesnt have a ticket has to stand outside the ceremony room? Help, this is all new to me!!!!

The age is 12 and under.  Whoever is not on the list (they aren't physical tickets) has to wait on stand by, if there is room they can go in aftre the ticketed guests are seated..  There usually is room.  Or your recruit can ask one of his shipmates who does not have guests to add your extra name to his list.

Dress should be nice, but not too dressy.  You will want to look good next to your sailor in his dress uniform. Think business casual or church.  Wear comfortable shoes.  Maje sure your camera battery is fully charged, or bring a spare.

dress warm. it is a long walk to the building and if the weather is chilly you will be cold. My son PIR'd in early April. the sailors stood in the pouring rain until they could get in. We had rain, sleet and snow!
