I have my own Popeye the sailor man.
Sadly, he hates spinach though. I'm working on it. So far, I've gotten him to eat yellow squash and zucchini, and even sushi. But no spinach, and probably never spinach.
He does not smoke or have a raspy voice. Nor does he have non-existant biceps and gigantic forearms. He is actually very nicely proportioned and has a very nice voice and a contagious laugh.
He also is 19, rather than 34. Also, both of his eyes are still in his head and fully functional and the right eye is not squinky or missing.
He does have sloppy grammar, though not as bad as Popeye's.
We are not from Sweethaven but we do bicker a little. Only out of love though. I am not fickle like Olive Oyl and my affections can not be won with wooing or flashy possessions. And I do not treat him like dirt or beat him up, though I'm sure he knows not to mess with me :P
So maybe Popeye isn't the best choice of nickname for my boy, nor Olive Oyl for me, but I sure do love my sailor man and miss him a lot. And I'm going to nickname us anyway.
Love,
Olive Oyl
Navy Aunt:
I actually have bought several Popeye and Olive Oyl shirts and sweatshirts. I have like 5 and I've bought him 1 so far. It's a little tough to store stuff for him in my little apartment bedroom. I've been wanting to make us costumes for halloween even though he won't be here for it lol.
