OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A Ring, a Kiss, and a Name

Have you ever sat down and thought about your wedding? Like really thought about all the little details?

If you're married, I know you must have. If you're engaged, you probably have. But I am neither of those. Though, I guess I could say I'm pre-engaged, because we have talked about it and we are planning on getting engaged and married within 2-4…

Can't we just jump?

Lately it feels like nothing else matters but what's between he and I. It feels like the only things I look forward to are his next call and getting to be in his arms and him getting down on one knee and asking me that question. There's a lot more going on in my life, and yeah a lot of it is good too, but I care more about him than anything.

Some days I just want to quit my life and go to wherever he is. Which is stupid. I have so much going for me, and I have so much to do still.…

Ice Cream Therapy.

Creamy vanilla goodness, with ribbons of decadent caramel throughout. Throw in some chocolate cups of caramel and you've an orgasm in your mouth. But if you've ever tried to drown your sorrows in ice cream, you know it doesn't really work.

They might make it seem like it's helps on TV, when a girl gets dumped or her boyfriend lies to her.…

Life Sucks (the money out of my wallet.)

I'm broke. And not only am I broke, I have nowhere to turn. I wish Popeye could help me out. Especially since when he was broke I was always the one who helped him out. But he can't, he's all the way in Illinois. My parents can't help me out because they're just too busy. And my friends just won't and I wouldn't ask them to. I would never ask Popeye either but I know he would help me because he loves me and he knows I've…

It's a Bad Day.

My heart hurts. I don't know why some days are so hard in comparisson to the others, but today is one of those days. Why do I have to be the one left behind?

I try to tell myself that I'm fine but that's simply false. I am surrounded by people who can't understand. The one person who has been there for me no matter what is across the country and…

A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words

I love when my Popeye draws me pretty pictures in his letters. The first was a lovely likeness of his mouth and teeth, pointing out exactly where his wisdom teeth were, and where they now are not. It looked a little frankenstein-y, but it showed he hasn't lost his quirkiness.

The most recent and most elaborate, was a rose. Rather, his…

He's my Popeye and I am his Olive Oyl

I have my own Popeye the sailor man.

Sadly, he hates spinach though. I'm working on it. So far, I've gotten him to eat yellow squash and zucchini, and even sushi. But no spinach, and probably never spinach.…
