I was all into making plans to attend the graduation in Great Lakes and all of a sudden i came to a sudden stop

Since the day my son left to BC on the 13, i was counting the days when i would see his new and improved look. i was all into making the arrangments for his graduation...when i got the letter telling me his grad. date.....i could not believe that the same day he will graduate from BC, My daughter will be graduating from High School. I could not believe what i was reading, both of the graduations are important. but i feel that my daughters high school graduation is where i should be. I just feel so sad that i will have to postpone seeing my son. my daughter tells me that i should go to her brothers graduation...but her graduation is just as important. i know that my son will understand.(I Hope). I just feel so sad i try not to show my emotions in front of my daughter, cause it is not her fault. we just thought that his graduation would be a couple of weeks later than hers. boy where we wrong..I love all of my kids, but i feel like this is not fare for me or my kids, Sorry for throwing such a fit here witrh everyone, it just i can't believe this .

funny thing if my son get the PIR date we think he is getting then our other two boys can't attend and seeing as both are under 18 and it's grad time for many of their friends I don't feel comfortable leaving them to look after the house. (lead us not into temptation- keeps running thru my head) So we are also trying to figure out how to play the hand. If my son is grad and go his brothers can attend if not then they can't. We live about 6 hours from Great Lakes. BUt we want to spend as much time with our oldest as we can that weekend. all I can say is DANG over lapping. :D

I am hoping that I will not be in the same predicament! My son left for boot camp on Monday, and I am HOPING that his graduation will be June 18. Still waiting to see. If it is June 25, that is the same day my daughter graduates. If that happens, I will try to pull off the incredible, and be at my sons graduation in the morning, and fly home in time for my daughters graduation at 7 that night. Best of luck to you

Christina, My daughter is graduating from high school 12 hours before my son graduates boot camp and we live 12 hours away. Fortunately by the grace of God we were able to come up with a solution so I didn't have to make a choice. I was beside myself in being faced with the choice to chose. I'm sure your son knows the agony that it is causing you to miss his and understands completely. You are right that there will be more graduations to attend for your son. I hope that you are able to enjoy your daughters graduation.

My suggestion is going to be totally different from everyone else's. I suggest you go to your sons graduation and here is why. High school graduations are really only a formality. (You see them year after year). You could have someone video tape your daughter's graduation and put more of your attention into her party. As for your son's graduation, you will see his 6 weeks of very hard work pay off. He has gone from your boy to a wonderful man. Bootcamp graduation is AMAZING. This will be the only time that you will see a BC Graduation. I will keep you and your family in my Prayers. Keep us posted on how things turn out for you and let your son know how very proud we are of him for his service to our Country. God Bless
