6 days till he goes with them...7 till he flys out.....
After our picnic on Sunday we came home and had a nice peaceful evening at home. It was so nice to see my son witnessing all the supportive people he has in his life show up and send him off right.
My mom(Grandma) was the only one to lose it when she said her goodbyes....it was sweet and kind of ironic that I was the one comforting her telling her he'd be ok. I was happy when I turned around and saw my son standing behind me. It meant he heard what I had said and I think it put his mind at ease to hear "me"say those words from my own mouth.
The room is still tore up....he knows what needs to be done, but if im honest...maybe a part of me wants him to leave it so I can have something to do once he leaves.
The feelings of pride and of loss amaze me.
I know its not forever..and that this is a wonderful journey he is about to embark on.
But i'm the kind of mom who feels a hole in the atomsphere when my kids spend the night at a friends house..lolol...so this is gonna be one HUGE sleepover!!!!! :)
He so deserves this....He will do great....Im already proud....
and then """FLASH""" I remember sending him to Kindergarten..........
Hi there...
My son will also be shipping out on June 21st (from Tampa). He has been in DEP for quite some time now, sometimes it is so hard to believe that he is actually leaving. He is excited and at this point I am too. But I feel alot like you do. He went out with his friends last night and I couldn't really sleep well until he got home. I say I am going to be strong now,,,well, we'll see?? Best of luck to you and your son!!!
Hi Moms!
