Well imagine that! After finally receiving the form letter and was so happy to get those letters out...I'm feeling all anxious again. Sometimes time moves so slow when you're waiting on something. I think I have a new found respect for the post office, because suddenly what they will deliver to me means the world and a life line to my son. I have to admit that I thought I would be able to throw myself into work to keep myself occupied and my mind off missing my son, however the complete opposite has happened. I am more distracted from EVERYTHING than I ever was and have become a TROLL on facebook...hoping to catch a glimpse of my son...just sayin'.
I know what you mean! I have returned to school, thought that would keep me busy and occupied, but all I do is think about my kid. I turned in a research paper four days late because I just didn't want to do it, and I didn't care. My neighbors must think I am crazy, checking the mail every fifteen minutes. It's hard letting our "babies" go, isn't it?
Pennadiar, you are so right, it is waaay hard to let them go. But having them locked up in our hearts is a place they will always stay. What Division is your son in? I saw that you are part Nuke group, will he be going to A school in Goose Creek?
Awww!! I completely understand! I fancied myself prepared for when my son left. Thought
I would be strong and stay nice and busy as well! Everyone would say, “Oh, it’ll
get better in time”! And I would just secretly cry even harder. However, once
my sons’ letters started coming more often it did get easier. Though I still
miss him, it no longer feels as if a death has occurred. Seriously, I know how
hard it can be to say good bye. It’s like a part of you is ripped out. Hang in
there, Lady. Soon you will see your son again and will feel joy again..just sayin... ;)
pj024- thanks for the encouraging words. I have heard that DIV 906 was able to finally send out their letters on Sunday so I am anxiously...ok stalking the mailman. btw we call our son PJ. :) I often wonder if he will make us change that when he returns. I only ever called him Jordan or Philip Jordan when he was in trouble. lol
I am so glad to hear their letters went out. I don't care much for the face looking back at me in the mirror these days. A letter would lift a few of those lines I think! Thanksgiving will be a little tough. Be strong ladies. 32 days I believe was the what the counter said this morning. Thanks for all the encouragement.
Aww JB, I know what you mean about that face in the mirror. I'm anxiously awaiting the mailman yet again today, as no letter came yesterday. Our daughter is home from college for the holiday so it is good to have one of our kids home. But you are right, Thanksgiving will be very difficult for us this year and Christmas. There was much discussion yesterday on the DIV 900 facebook page regarding the addressing of the letters to our SR's. One of the mom's mentioned that her SR got into some trouble because they address was not all capital block letters and the numbers were not exactly as the SR had on the form letter. It was unfounded, as the consensus was that the RDC was perhaps just looking for something to give out more PT to them. In any event I am not going to chance it and have addressed the letter to our son exactly as his return address was written on the form letter. Better to be safe than sorry I guess. I will feel terrible if I caused him or the Division unnecessary PT or worse. Keep you chin up Mom, we will get through this together. Thinking of you and wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving. By the way, I decided I would write my son the top ten reasons I'm Thankful he is my son tomorrow and send him. :)
No letter today... :( Maybe Saturday.
Ohhhh dang it! I hated the waiting part for the letter! Although your son may not be allowed to send any letters yet, he has probably written you a ton and they will in your hands real soon, you'll see.
Oh my gosh! What a sweet thing to do. Top ten reasons you are thankful he is your son! I know how hard the hollidays are gonna be. I can't even bare thinking of it. So thankful that we have this site. :)
