My son has been in boot camp for 2.5 weeks now and today I was surprised with a phone call! I was so surprised I actually hung up on him! He called back and we talked for 20 priceless minutes. He told me how much he missed us and included his 4 brothers in that statement. He said a letter from his 8 year old brother moved him to tears. Which made me cry. He said mail call was the best part of the day.
If nothing else......write to these kids and let them know you are here for them. Even if he can't write back, they get the letters and know you love and support them.

What I would like is some help with the "What now?" He graduates 12/13/13...... Currently ship 13 div 038. Going into the nuclear program after boot.......

I want to be an active part of this journey in his life. Suggestions?

Nucmom, I didn't realize you were in the Modesto area. We have a fabulous group in the San Fran bay area with many members from the Central Valley.  Kathy our admin left a message on your page. Look forward to talking to you in the San Fran Group. A lot of nice supportive people - quite a few Nukes. We love to meet in person and yak, yak all afternoon. LOL.
