So excited to say I received a letter today! He wrote it on June 17th and it was in my mailbox today! He sounded so excited and happy. He said he likes his bunk mate and the food is good! Thank goodness for that!:)
Yay!! When did he ship & what’s his PIR date
Very Great News! YAY!
That is so EXCITING! I can't wait to get my first letter!
Its such a relief when you hear that things are going well for them. Good for him!
My son shipped out June 1st with a PIR date of July 27th, Ship 12 Div 296, sonar technician. I'm smiling as I just used all that Navy lingo in one sentence! We are all learning. I hope you heard from your recruit.
Michele that is awesome! To keep busy when my Son left to BC I began learning the Lingo. And when I received my first call I was able to ask him questions in the lingo. Boy did he get a kick out of it. Keep up the good job.
I no they say to ask your son when BST 21 is. What are some other key questions I could ask him? I really appreciate your input. When I talked to him on the phone he sounded so good, I mean really good. I truly got the sense that he's exactly where he's supposed to be.... I know you'd agree, that's a great feeling for any mom!
believe me I totally understand how you all are feeling. It felt like forever when I got my form letter and I was a total mess for a few weeks. I'm from AZ and Chicago seemed really far away and my Son was there. My Son has been in for almost a year come July 5th, Finished A school Jan. 31st 2018 was sent to SD, Coronado Island where now he is only 6 hrs away if you drive and maybe an hour and half if you got. He has already gone on his first deployment which another totally different Journey on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. So as you come to an aN END With one Journey you will begin another. My Son is a EM3 Petty Officer also know as a Fireman .Also known as a Snipe. Electricians Mate.
I always asked what his days were like, alir if the times believe it or not they actually didn't know much, like BSt21 he had no clue what that was, so I used to explain alot of the things that they were going to be doing . if you would like to see a video of BST21 go on to you tube and type in BST21 and it will take you thru what exactly they will be going thru. It a test of teamwork and really intense.
