My son's recruiter told me that only 4 can go in but if more than 4 family members go they have a separate room that they can watch the ceremony on a tv screen. Do you know if this is true?

Derek's Mom, It would be nice if recruiters would read the RTC's web sites every now and then. See http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp and http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/fam_guide.asp.

NOW HEAR THIS NO TICKETS !  I think tell her four times that there are NO tickets maybe she got it you think?

Comment by Edie on September 10, 2013 at 10:13pm
I was told their is no tickets too!
But some lady on here had to tell me their was no tickets!
But when my son called he kept telling me I
Had to buy tickets. So I was confused!
I don't like one person tells u one thing
Then your recruiter tells u something different.
I hope everything works out so your mother can make
It too.

Edie, recruits sometimes hear others talking about purchasing tickets for PIR and believe they are talking about tickets to be used at the RTC when they are actually referring to plane tickets to get in the area to be able to attend PIR. Many recruiters do not keep up with changes at the RTC and pass on outdated information. See http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp and http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/fam_guide.asp forthe  straight from the RTC.

I also invite you to join  Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and check out the info in the Pages there. There is info on PIR in te Page, PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend, but the info from the RTC site is the final source.

people have told in two posts repeating the same thing is a waste of time. if you see that someone has answered the question don't come along and add to it with same thing.

AbbyBlue, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SO HATEFUL, people do make mistakes and I was going by what my son's Petty Officer told me!!!!!!!!!!! It also says that you can only get your recruiter's address from them and not anyone else, well I have not received a letter from my son yet but his Petty Officer got his address for me. IT'S A WASTE OF TIME WHEN YOU SEE SOMEONE POST SUCH RUDE COMMENTS ON A SITE THAT IS SUPPOSE TO SUPPORT NEW RECRUITER'S FAMILIES!!!!!!!!!!!

Lady Hamilton- I did read these web sites (thank you), however since I was just told this last week by the Petty Officer I didn't think confirming what I read on the web sites would cause such un just rudeness. I guess that all of the talk on television about how military wives, moms etc support each other is not true based on the target of rudeness of one simple question on here, and I have only been a member for less than 1 week. SAD PEOPLE SAD!!!!!
