I am a SR girlfriend. I have been with him for two years now and I'm so proud of his choice. but I also can't help to be bitter about it sometimes. I know this is the best for his future, but I miss him so much. I am going to the graduation on the 6th of July. I am going with his parents and we are so excited to see him. We do have a few questions in hopes for answers. I have been all over this website trying to find answers, so I hope I can get a few from here. I have no idea what we need to bring to the graduation to get in. I know that we do not have tickets but do we need a photo I.D.? Any other type of forms? Also do we need a parking pass? I've seen the link to it but it requires a password. Where can i find the Password? Another huge thing is my SR leaves for A-School the day after graduation. He told us that we need an airport pass to go with him to the gate. Where do we find these airport pass? Do we just tell the airport that we want to go to the gate with him? If anyone can answer any of these questions that would be much appreciated. I know I'm stressing about this because I want to make sure I get to see him. Thank you if you can offer any information!

I see you figured out how to open this for commets.  I'm not sure why the site is set up that way.  Maybe it has to do with how you have your privacy settings set.  Just remember when you post a Blog Post to go below the post and see who can see it and comment.  Anyway, several of us posted on your Wall, so perhaps you have found the answers to your questions above.  If not, what do you still need to know?

I think that is it....i will have to talk to his parents to get that password for our gate pass. I'm just affraid we wont be able to find him after the graduation or how much time we have with him.

Don't worry, he will find you! You mention that he flies out, so he will have from about 10:30 a.m. when Liberty is called until sometime that evening when he must be back at his ship, Be sure that he gets back to the RTC at least 30 minutes before his Liberty ends (usually around 8 or 9 p.m.). He will know the time. He will also know his flight details when you see him after PIR. Be sure that you write down the information so you can meet him at the airport and spend time with him.
What will his rating (job) be and/or where is he going to A School? There are groups on here for most of the ratings and A Schools.

If you are going with his parents, coordinate with them. They were probably sent the form letter which had the password to print the parking pass. Understandably his parents will want to spend as much time with him as possible. Your "alone" time with him may be cut short. You must cut out the "bitterness" attitude when you see him - it will come across as selfish. If you are in good terms with his parents, perhaps you can negotiate some private time. Concentrate on your career and/or education. There is nothing sexier than a young woman with looks (your photo is certainly cute) and something going for her.  Good luck.

He is Aviation Ordinance. He first told me that his A-School was in South Carolina but now he mentioned Florida. So I'm not 100% sure where it is at.

Yes, A School for AO is in Pensacola, FL at Naval Air Station Pensacola.  Here are some groups to check out:  Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!, Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola, Spouses of Sailors going to A-school in P-cola, AO Moms, Families, Airman Family and Friends, and Naval Aviation.

NavyGirlfriend108 - Hello. Your going to get another "mom" here...but also a wife. I was a "bitter" GF at times too when my now hubby...then BF went off to AF basic. We had just gone through Police Academy training...6 intense months and the year of probation that follows (his "real" job...LOL they're both very "real" what with deployments, training and schools etc.). The results...are not good and so much "repairing" to be done over the years. That bitterness bleeds out to those you love around you and it also turns you into someone you don't want to be. I am so thankful we are still together after 32 years.

BQB is sooo right...it is selfish..."bitter pill' to swallow B! She is also right about concentrating on your own life...plus...love him like crazy! Don't forget who you fell in love with...keep that close!

BQB and lemonelephant have given you what you need...I am a "veteran" mom on the PIR groups so if you need anything else just holler!

Oh and yes you need a Government issued photo ID for PIR entry...basically your Drivers License or something like that!

To get the Airport pass to go to the Gate and wait with him...he will have to be with you to do so. You will go to the ticket counter...and again you will need your ID. If you get to the AP after he has already checked in, he will most likely be waiting in the USO. Once you get his flight info...make sure that you coordinate a time that you will be at the AP to meet him...and make sure that he has a working phone card to call you and see if you  have arrived. If he is at O'Hare the USO is before security so you can just meet up with him there and at Midway it is past security so he will have to come out in front to meet you.

**Gate passes to go through security are up to the individual airlines so this is not always a guarantee...but we have seen many, many more "yes's" then "no's" as far as that goes!
